DECEMBER 25th, 2003 Koh Santepheap : Settling on the street near a Milk Factory in Tuol Sangke commune, Russei Keo district, Phnom Penh, the poor old man (pictured) is working very hard for only his daily food, trotting everywhere with his old bicycle in Phnom Penh to pick up recyclable wastes. "I go everywhere but I only earn from hand to mouth." said the 80-year-old man. "My health is a problem and it is getting worse day by day. I have work for myself and a man like me is just waiting for the day," said the man, whose relatives were killed by Pol Pot comrades.

 

Gorgeous Ayai singer DECEMBER 25th, 2003 Koh Santepheap : A Gorgeous Lady Who Causes Laughter - Nicknamed "Ka' oy" whose real name is Chuon Chan Rattana, the 17-year-old performer abruptly developed her incredible talent to tie up with the famed Neay Krim comedy troupe this year. After going through Khmer Arts trainings at Royal University of Fine Arts, the first daughter of three siblings of a traditional dual (Cambodian Ayai) performer couple —Mr Phem Sophat and Mrs Nol Kolab in Baty district, Takeo province— now appears on TV 5 weekend concert. The rising star began her performing career as Ayai singer with her parents many years ago and was spotted by troupe leader, Neay Krim when she won second runner-up of Apsara TV Ayai performance contest two months back. Romantically, Rattana is not linked to any guy and seems to be waiting for a perfect man. She said, “ Now I am too young to be involved with relationship and I'm still doing school.”
