Ruom Ritt: "Funcinpec isn't a royalist party" (2004-Oct-30)
Samngatki : Ruom Ritt, who
is reportedly former King Norodom Sihanouk's childhood and like-minded
friend now living in France, wrote on October 6 (the very day King Norodom
Sihanouk announced from Beijing his decision to give up the throne) a revealing
letter to the King, who published it in the 2-6 October 2004 edition of
the royal Bulletin Mensuel de Documentation. Using slightly disguised and
easily recognizable names Ruom Ritt
said, among other things: « (...) Therefore one must not confuse
[the Funcinpec party] with [Sihanouk]". Moreover, one should not say or
write that [Funcinpec] is a Royalist Party. One may call it [Ranariddhist],
but calling it "Royalist" is an insult to the King. »
Original
text in French: « (...)
