Re: By Vong Sotheara : Geneva Conference on Indochina and Problems of Cambodia in 1954

Buddhi Khmer Center : Attached please find Cambodian document in .pdf
http://www.ibuddhi.org/about.php

N.P. : I'm glad and proud of my book with Chan Dara and Ith Thong Nguon, "Kampuchea Ning Sahapoanth Indouchin" being quoted by Prof. Vong Sotheara in his study. The "trick" by Mr Tep Phan and the Cambodian delegation at the last night of the negociation was really clever and has saved "for a while" Cambodia. That was still a weapon of the weak : we had and have no means and no will to defend militarily our sovereignty and our territorial integrity. As we have said in our book, le Cambodge est toujours en sursis.
It appears that the Education authorities of Cambodia are making the first step toward history teaching at universities. Let's hope they will soon teach Cambodia history at secondary and elementary schools as well. Finally the name of Keo Tak, Khmer Issarac chief, should be corrected into Kao Tak.

Yuth NEA : You are right about the spelling. Mme Kao Tak lives in Surin. She will be 97-year old this June. Mme Hang Thun Hak is Lok Ta Kao Tak first born. She lives in the USA.

N.P. : I didn't know them personally but I kind of kept good memory of what I've read while I was teen. For instance the name Lon Nol in Khmer was spelled with a Nor + Lor, thus was uttered "Luon Norl". Now, many are writing with a Naw Dac Srac Oc (Luon Noll) and even recently (by Chau Dara) with a Naw + Lor acute (Luon Nall). I think we should not have carelessness on things related to our history.

Re: KRAM NGOY : Avoid the three vices : Sex, drinking alcohol, gambling

Bury Chau : Lok tha Chhkuot bei : 1.Chkuot srei , 2.Chkuot sra , 3.Chkuot Lobeng li lea .
Casino gambling is a vice.

Chan Born : I totally agree with your complaint on Casino. I have conducted research on drug abuse there for a while. Thousands and thousands Khmer people are currently hired there with comfortable living standard compared with garment workers as well as with government servants and some OI, NGOs, UN agencies. Thailand have reacted aggressively to Cambodia in this business field. You know why? If Thailand benefits from those activities they will do nothing. I was told that one State at USA survives by only Casino industry!! Thailand is on the process of opening casinos on their own territory LEGALLY. This will be a main problem for Cambodia. Cambodia had this opportunity because some neighbouring coutries considered this business as wrong development ideally. Cambodia is better off developing through efficient policy that results in more money for the national budget. I think WE START FROM WHAT WE HAVE. Few philosophy like Khmer Rouge perspective are dangerous because they START FROM NEW THINGS. Are you happy with my concerns? I do not want Khmers to repeat merely from one to another such A CHEY THLAK TEUK!  HEI EU!  HEI EU!.
